Ember Real Results doubles in size since joining Ember group
L&D division proves highly complementary to core consultancy
Following the announcement of several recent project wins, Ember Real Results has now more than doubled its revenue since joining the Ember Group in December 2016.
The Group’s L&D division has also seen head count double and is continuing to recruit for key roles in Consultancy and Digital Learning, as well as seeking more associate trainers to meet the high levels of demand for its proven, impactful learning solutions. It has also been awarded ‘Accredited Learning Provider’ status byThe Learning and Performance Institute an international learning body leading the way on workplace learning.
New projects include rolling out a major programme for the contact centre and frontline service staff of a private hospital group, a web chat skills programme for a major national retailer and a retained services agreement with an online retailer for additional training as it grows. The team is also in discussion around projects to digitise induction training and blend existing traditional facilitated programmes.

The training is consistently very popular, and more importantly, delivers measurable improvements in crucial areas from first contact resolution to complaint handling to sales performance.”
For Ember Real Results managing director Carolyn Blunt, being part of the Ember Group has both opened up new opportunities and provided ways to increase the impact of the learning solutions that she and her team deliver.
“As part of the Ember Group, we benefit from far more focused training needs analysis than other learning providers can offer,” she says. “In particular, we’re able to use interaction analytics rather than just manual call listening or contact analysis in order to gather robust data about team and individual performance, and then use those insights to ensure our training addresses the real needs of client teams.”
Ember’s technical capability has also helped accelerate the development and adoption of the Errol Owl (Ember Real Results Online Learning) platform. Errol is designed to complement all types of learning solutions, allowing Ember to offer clients a rich and blended approach to learning.
“Digital learning is an increasingly important part of our offer,” Carolyn explains. “We typically aim to use Errol before and after classroom training, for example, to build up core knowledge beforehand and assess and increase retention after the skills training.” Crucially, this approach maximises the efficiency for clients, with bitesize sessions on Errol, meaning staff spend less time away from their desks to attend training.
The assessment function in Errol is an important means of measuring the effectiveness of the learning programmes Ember delivers. However, being part of a broader services group offers the opportunity to measure impact in other ways. “For Ember, employee development often forms part of a broader transformation programme,” David concludes. “We look to demonstrate the ROI of the whole programme and show how the learning element has helped contribute to the overall business change that our clients seek. The results to date have been impressive.”
